Glynn County Republican Party to Hold Mass Meetings and County Convention

On Saturday, March 9, 2019, at 9:00 A.M., the Glynn County Republican Party will convene Precinct Mass Meetings to elect Delegates and Alternates to the Glynn County Republican Party Convention at First United Methodist Church, 1400 Norwich Street and to elect Precinct Officers for the 2019-2021 term.  Registration will open at 8:15.  Those standing in line by 9:00 will be allowed to participate.

The Glynn County Republican Party Convention will subsequently convene at 10:00 A.M. on March 9, 2019, (with those in line by 10:00 permitted to participate) at the same location for the purposes of electing Delegates and Alternates to the Congressional District Convention; electing Delegates and Alternates to the State Convention; adopting the Rules of the Glynn County Republican Party; electing County Officers for the 2019-2021 term; and for the purpose of conducting all other necessary business.  All attendees will be required to pay a fee of $15, with will be used to cover the cost of the County Convention.

All Glynn County residents who are legally registered to vote as of the day of the Precinct Mass Meeting and who believe in the principles of the Republican Party are eligible and encouraged to participate in the process.  An individual must be a registered voter as of the date of the County Convention to be eligible to be elected a Delegate or Alternate from the County Convention to either the District and/or State Convention.

Possible roles of Precinct Officers:  Disperse information from the Glynn County Republican Party regarding upcoming meetings, events, rallies, fundraisers, and campaigning opportunities; grow the Glynn County Republican Party membership; create volunteers from precincts; help generate poll workers and poll watchers; energize conservatives to GET OUT and VOTE during primaries and general elections; and Ultimately, to help ELECT CONSERVATIVE CANDIDATES at the local, state and national levels.  (Precinct chairs will be given a list of voters in their precincts for contact information, to be used only for Glynn County Republican Party approved business and not to be released for use by candidates or unrelated persons.  These are voluntary positions, with no personal or activityexpenses charged to the GCRP.)

Roles of Delegates or Alternates: Voluntary positions toAttend District and/or State Conventions and conduct business as listed below.  Personal expenses are involved, such as travel and registration fees.

The 1st Congressional District Convention will convene at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 13.  (Location and details to be announced at a future date.) The purpose will be: 1) adopting rules for the Congressional District Republican Party; 2) electing officers for the 2019-2021 term; 3) electing members of the State Committee of the Georgia Republican Party; and 4) conducting all other business as necessary.  Attendees will be required to pay a fee to cover the cost of the Convention.

The Georgia Republican Party State Convention will convene at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 17, 2019, in Savannah, Georgia.  Registration for Delegates and Alternates shall close at precisely, 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 18, 2019.  The purpose for the convention will be: adopting the Rules of the Georgia Republican Party; of electing the Officers of the Georgia Republican Party; and conducting all other necessary business.  Delegates and Alternates will be required to pay a fee, which will be used to cover the cost of the Convention.
